The STX-2 is a 2 gauge battery cable from our Automotive Wire & Battery Cable line. It consists of a 133/.0220 single bare copper conductor stranding for exceptional conductivity. Following the SAE J-1127 standards set for low voltage battery cable in electrical systems, this cable is meant to withstand abrasion, aging, and heat. Therefore, this cable is specifically designed to withstand tough environments. It features cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) insulation which allows it to withstand a temperature range of to +125°C. This cable is meant to tolerate long-term exposure to extreme temperatures making it ideal for use in automotive starters, battery grounds, or other applications that require similar resistance to heat or cold. SGX-2 has an insulation thickness of .044 inches and weighs approximately 236 lbs/MFT. With a nominal outer diameter of only 0.4180 inches, our 2 gauge battery cable can fit nicely into crowded engine compartments of the latest electric vehicles and can pass through firewalls with minimal clearance.
