BRC-12-4 Brake Cable
Our BRC-12-4 is a 12 gauge 4 conductor brake cable and can be used in parking brakes and other automotive applications. When used in a parking brake system, also known as an emergency brake, the cable would connect the pedal or handle to the brakes. When the pedal is pressed or handle is pulled, the cable is tightened which compresses the brakes causing them to activate and stop the vehicle. Then when the brake is released, the cable loosens again. After multiple uses, the cable can become weakened. In order to prevent this, our 12 gauge 4 conductor brake cable is specifically designed to be resistant to stretching and wear. Its four 19/25 stranded copper conductors are laid flat in order to increase flexibility making it less likely to be harmed by excessive pulling or bending. Parking brake cables can also experience a lot of friction, which may cause a damaging amount of heat. Our 12 gauge 4 conductor brake cable is protected against this as well with its PVC jacket and insulation allowing for a maximum temperature of 105°.
