BRC-14-4 Brake Cable
Our BRC-14-4 is a 14 gauge 4 conductor brake cable. While there are various automotive applications for this type of cable, it is usually used in parking brake systems. Specifically, it is used to connect the brake pedal or handle with the brakes. When the pedal is pushed or handle is pulled, the cable will tighten and activate the brakes. This can cause heat due to friction, and so our 14 gauge 4 conductor brake cable features a PVC jacket and insulation in order to protect it from this heat. Additionally, continued tightening and loosening can lead to the cable weakening over time, so flexibility is required for a good parking brake cable. Our 14 gauge 4 conductor brake cable has four 19/.0140 stranded bare copper conductors that are laid horizontally inside the jacket. This increases flexibility and creates a cable that is fit for extended use in a parking brake system.
