Our SO cord is a multi-conductor service cord that is manufactured for the purpose of electrical power connections that require flexibility. SO cord can be operated in both inside and outside environments. Common applications include wiring for industrial machinery, enormous appliances, heavy-duty tools, motors, and temporary electrical power and lighting for construction sites. SO cord is incredibly adaptable and flexible, making it the most prominent electrical cord available. The contrasting types of rubber or plastic jackets enclosing the conductors give you options for choosing the cord that will be the safest and most cost-effective option for your project. Due to the flexible nature of the cord, as well as its rubber outer jacket, this cord is not suitable for permanent wiring installations, as it could jam conduits during wire pulls.
Please note that SO and SOW have been superseded by SOOW. SOOW has both an oil-resistant insulation and an oil-resistant outer jacket while SO and SOW have only an oil-resistant outer jacket. Any SOW and SO cord parts entered for RFQs will be quoted as SOOW.
