UL 1007 Hook-Up Wire Dual Ratings
UL Style 1007 covers single-conductor hook-up wires that are insulated by PVC. This type of wire is typically small, making it ideal for use as internal wiring in appliances and electronic equipment. This UL AWM style overlaps with a few other specifications as well, so it is important to know which one is required for your application. Before we discuss this wire's dual ratings, let's examine the construction and ratings of UL 1007.
UL 1007 Wire Specifications
Our UL 1007 wire features a tinned copper conductor and PVC insulation with a nominal insulation thickness of .016". We offer this wire in gauge sizes 30 AWG to 16 AWG. UL 1007 wire has a temperature range of -40°C to +80°C and a voltage rating of 300V. This lead wire is designed to pass UL VW-1 vertical flame test and is RoHS compliant. Common applications for this wire include the internal wiring of electrical equipment, electronic equipment, panels, and meters. It is also commonly used as point-to-point wiring.
UL 1569 and CSA TR-64
Many UL 1007 wires also meet UL 1569 and CSA style TR-64 standards. The main difference between all three standards is their temperature ratings. UL 1569 has the highest temperature range of all three, with a maximum temperature of 105°C. These lead wires are also often available in different AWG sizes. However, all three have a voltage rating of 300V and may be used in electronic equipment.
